If you lost your phone today, could you still get into your email?
One-to-one sessions, in person or on a video call. On your own phone, laptop or tablet, you fix the most important things first while we guide you. You make every change yourself, and we never see your passwords or codes.
The uncomfortable questions usually arrive too late.
Most digital plans are tested for the first time on the worst day. A session asks questions like these on an ordinary one, then works through the answers with you, most important first.
If every device you own disappeared on vacation today, which accounts would disappear with them?
Does your partner know how to reach your accounts if you're not there to help them?
A voice that sounds exactly like you calls your family and asks for money. Would they know it isn't you?
Who holds the master password to your password manager, and would they know what to do with it?
Your primary email can reset every other password you own. What's actually protecting it?
Your executor is named in the will. Can they get past your two-factor codes?
If any of these gave you pause, you're in the right place. Every one has a concrete, workable answer.
What you leave with.
Each one lowers your risk in one specific area.

Your password manager
Far fewer passwords to remember.
Each important account gets its own password, and the app remembers them all for you.
- Takes
- One session
- Kept
- On your phone and computer
What's included
- Today
- You reuse a few passwords across many accounts.
- By the end
- An app that remembers your passwords for you (a password manager), on your phone and computer. Your most important accounts each have a different password saved in it. You know how to get back into the app if you lose a device.
- Done when
- You've signed in to those accounts through the app, on both devices.
If my phone is gone
- 1From the laptop, mark the phone as lost.
- 2Sign in to email with the backup codes in the blue folder.
- 3Call the phone company for a new SIM card.

If you lose your phone, you know what to do next.
A written plan for getting back into your email and your Apple or Google account when your phone is gone.
- Takes
- One session
- Kept
- Away from your phone
What's included
- Today
- Your phone holds the sign-in codes for many of your accounts.
- By the end
- A written plan for getting back into your email and your Apple or Google account, kept somewhere you can reach without your phone. You've turned on any number protection your phone company offers.
- Done when
- You've walked through the plan once, pretending you don't have your phone.
Asked for money or a code?
- 1Hang up.
- 2Call back on a number you know.
- 3Ask for our check phrase.
Your call-back rule
When a call or message asks for money, you know how to check it.
You and the people closest to you share one simple rule for checking any request for money or codes.
- Takes
- One session
- Kept
- With your family
What's included
- Today
- A convincing call or message asking for money or a code would be hard to check in the moment.
- By the end
- A rule your household follows: when a call, text or email asks for money or a code, you hang up and call back on a number you already have. A check phrase only your family knows, for a call that sounds like one of you. We never see or keep your check phrase.
- Done when
- Your family has agreed a check phrase and a call-back rule, and you've practiced it once.

Your family's first step
Your family has a clear first step if you couldn't act.
The people you choose know where to start, and where your important things are kept.
- Takes
- Usually two sessions
- Kept
- Where you choose
What's included
- Today
- They'd have to work out where to start.
- By the end
- The people you choose know their first step and where your important things are kept. You've named a person in Apple's or Google's legacy settings, so they can get your photos and files after your death; the written plan covers the time before that. We never see or keep your passwords or recovery codes. Where they're kept is your choice.
- Done when
- The plan is written down, and the people you chose know where it is.

Your go bag
If you need to leave home quickly, you know what to take.
Your bag is packed, and you've decided what to take, what to leave, and what to keep somewhere else.
- Takes
- Usually two sessions
- Kept
- By your door, with copies away from home
What's included
- Today
- Nothing is packed, and the papers, medicines and chargers you'd need are in different places around the house.
- By the end
- A packed bag for each person and pet, by the door. You're signed up for your county's evacuation warnings, set to ring through when your phone is on silent. Copies of your key papers are kept away from home, your photos and files are backed up somewhere other than the house, and you've checked you can get them back. A video of your home's contents is saved for an insurance claim. If you choose a safe for papers that stay, you know what it can and can't protect. We never see or keep your papers, recovery codes or security keys.
- Done when
- Each bag is packed, your copies and backups are kept away from home, and you've done one timed practice run to the car.
The names and details in these examples are made up.
What happens in a session.
We started Safe As Houses to help people, and the people they trust, get back into the accounts that matter when something goes wrong. A session is that work at its simplest: one to one, on the phone, laptop or tablet you use every day.
In person or on a video call
A first session is 90 minutes, in person in and around Marin County, San Francisco and Park City, or on a video call from anywhere else, at the same price. Have your phone and your computer or tablet with you, charged.
What matters most, first
Usually your email, your Apple or Google account, how you keep your passwords, and your phone company. A few questions find out what would happen if your phone went missing today, and the fixes follow in order.
You make every change yourself
On your own phone, laptop or tablet, while we guide you. We never see your passwords or codes, and we will never ask you for one.
If there is time, try getting back in without your phone
On a new device or in a private browser window, with your phone switched off, so you see for yourself whether you can get back in without it.
After the session.
The changes you made are yours, on your own devices and accounts. Two things help you carry on from there.
Your own page
What was done in the session, and what is left, in order, with a line on why each step matters. It opens from a private link, with no account or password to set up. Anyone with the link can open it, so please don't forward it.
A short recap
The summary we send by email after your session: what was done, what is left, and the link to book more help if you would like it.
Your session
Two ways to start.
A first session is $375 for 90 minutes, and more help after that is $250 an hour, only if you want it. If you would rather talk first, the 15-minute call is free.

Beyond a session.
When you want more than a session can reach, the work can go further. Ask us about any of these.
A longer plan made for you
Everything a session did not reach, in order, built around your answers and the accounts that matter most to you.
A guide for each step
A plain-language walkthrough for every step in your plan, written so you can carry on between sessions on your own.
A recovery playbook your family can follow
Step by step, for the day something happens to you: who acts, what they do, and where what they need is kept. It never contains your passwords or codes.
You hold the keys. Always.
We never see or keep your passwords, recovery codes, or seed phrases. We guide the work and you make every change, so the sensitive material stays with you, in systems you control. That boundary is structural, and it's non-negotiable.
Start with the accounts that matter most.
The first call is free and takes 15 minutes. It's a conversation, not a commitment: we'll talk through where you stand and what would help most.
